Life is joy,
Life is pain,
May be but a journey, the cloudy, the sunny, the rain.
About the regrets I watched stain my immaculate heart a million blotches time and again.
Injury to my wings,
Too broken to fly,
Too hurt and weary inside,
Making me a susceptible wretch of joy denied.
A bleak morning smiles,
An untold gesture of hope,
Of a future, a headway, a nod.
An improvisation of a lesson taught.
Lessons taught only to bring me back to my feet even more,
More composed than I was before.
A beautiful succession of peace,
that emits radiance beyond words could explain
and hurt could contain.
A gush of joy, in my heart, that lay
Made possible by the lamb that was slain,
For my sake, for your sake
That we’d be free from the incessant snares and gnarls that face us each day
Life is joy,
Life is pain
And with my God,
there’s always a way.
